About Isabel
Isabel is an Oxford-based artist whose work explores the expressions of beauty in the natural world, drawing on both fine art and decorative traditions.
Trained at London Fine Art Studios, Isabel's practice centres on painting from life, capturing the changing subtleties in an environment.
Her current body of work takes inspiration from schools of interior & fabric design; from floral motifs found in domestic spaces during the Arts and Crafts Movement to the vibrant gouache pattern swatches produced by French textile designers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Through the interplay of gouache and watercolour mediums, Isabel creates detailed and vibrant depictions of nature.
